Celebrating 10 years as MoveUP

10 years ago – November 9, 2015 – our union rebranded and officially adopted the name: MoveUP.

In our next Local Voice magazine coming out in December, you will have the opportunity to read more about the reasons behind our name change, how the consultation process went with our members at the time, and some of the other names we considered as well.

Changing our local’s name to MoveUP is just one of the many unique stories that have shaped our union since our early days as a small social club at the BC Electric Railway Company in the 1900s, to receiving our union certification from the Labour Board in the 1940s, to becoming part of a uniquely Canadian union in 2004, all the way to today.

You can learn more about to our union’s history by visiting MoveUPTogether.ca/history.

After visiting our History page, test your MoveUP knowledge for a chance to win a MoveUP prize pack by entering our trivia contest below! All entries with correct answers be entered into our draw. Deadline to enter the contest is November 14.

Contest winners and trivia contest answers will be revealed in our weekly newsletter on November 20.
