Happy Holidays MoveUP on red background with candy canes and gingerbread people

Holiday message from MoveUP President Annette Toth

To all our members,

As we near the end of 2024, I have been reflecting on all our successes and accomplishments that we have shared together as members of MoveUP. We have welcomed hundreds new members to our union and have celebrated many significant wins at bargaining tables with many of you.

We have added more staff to support you, and we’re training more and more job stewards and engaging more members to become active with our union. It’s our way to making sure you’re not just part of a union, but also have a supportive community around you. 2025 is shaping up to be just as busy as this year with over 80% of our members, both public and private sector, heading to the bargaining table. Having your engagement and participation will be essential to us reaching the best deal we can for you.

I hope you have an opportunity to connect with friends and family over the coming weeks and find moments to rest and recharge while celebrating the season and the coming of the new year.

Our office will be closed as of Wednesday, December 25, 2024, and will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025, allowing our staff some time to rest and recover from a very busy year and spend some quality time with their loved ones. During that time, if you have an emergency issue at work, please call 604-299-0378 or 1-800-665-6838 and someone will be in touch with support.

On behalf of our staff and our leadership team at MoveUP, I wish you a happy, healthy, and joyous holiday season. See you in the new year!

In solidarity,

Annette Toth
President
