MoveUP wishes members a Happy Diwali. Diwali is a five-day “festival of lights” that’s one of the most important celebrations of the year for Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains. It marks the end of the harvest season in India and is an official holiday in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Burma, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji.

During the festival, families perform traditional activities together in their homes, including the burning of small clay oil lamps to signify the triumph of good over evil.
