MoveUP is pleased to announce our members who work at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) have ratified their tentative agreement.
The new agreement runs through to June 30, 2029. MoveUP represents nearly 5,000 public sector workers who work at ICBC across the province.
“We’re very pleased to reach this deal for our members at ICBC,” said Annette Toth, President of MoveUP. “Our members have been asked to take on more and more, particularly since the introduction of Enhanced Care, and with technological changes in the workplace and legislative changes to the Graduated Licensing Program. Beyond just wages which are already set by the public sector mandate, it was important for our bargaining committee that we took the time and did our due diligence to negotiate an agreement that better defines our members’ roles, the impact of artificial intelligence usage, and ensures our members’ jobs are secured and protected in the short term and long term.”
The new agreement also includes an additional pay increase for the lowest paid jobs; greater opportunities for scheduling flexibility; changes that promote increased diversity, equity, and inclusion; improvements to extended health and dental group benefits; and a program to provide subsidies for using public transit.
