Let’s stand together to Call for Justice and take action against all forms of violence

Today (June 3), the final report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) was released.

The report outlines 231 Calls for Justice – actions that we all must take in order to end the genocide against Indigenous women and girls.

As Chair of MoveUP’s Women’s Rights Committee, and co-chair of MoveUP’s Human Rights & Multicultural Committee, I urge all of you to take a short moment to read these Call to Actions today.

You can read these Call to Actions here.

As you read them, I implore you to think of how these Calls to Action can apply to you in your daily lives. I implore you to think of how you can make a positive difference today so we can all have a better tomorrow.

We have lost far too many of our Indigenous sisters to violence. We have lost far too many of our family, friends, and other loved ones to violence.

Together, in solidarity, we will stand against all forms of violence and stand with all our sisters.

In solidarity,

Christy Slusarenko
Chair, Women’s Rights Committee
Co-chair, Human Rights & Multicultural Committee
