Welcome to MoveUP workers at BCAA Courtenay Service Location

MoveUP union welcomes workers at BCAA Courtenay Service Location

MoveUP is pleased to announce that the workers at the BCAA Service Location in Courtenay have joined our union.

These new union members will be incorporated into the existing collective agreement between MoveUP and BCAA Service Locations and will immediately be entitled to the benefits and protections in the collective agreement.

“We are thrilled to welcome these BCAA workers into our union,” said MoveUP President Annette Toth. “As our footprint expands at BCAA, it increases the bargaining power of our members who work at BCAA and allows us to make even greater gains for our union.

“We continue to receive tremendous interest from workers at non-unionized BCAA Service Locations who want to be part of our union. With an existing agreement already in place, workers at BCAA who join our union have the benefit of knowing that as soon as they sign union cards they will immediately have a contract and know exactly what their rights and entitlements are.”

Prospective members who work at non-unionized BCAA Service Locations are encouraged to visit MoveUPTogether.ca/join or email join@moveuptogether.ca to learn more about the advantages of joining our union.

The Courtenay Service Location is the 9th BCAA service location to unionize with MoveUP, joining Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, and Surrey.

MoveUP also represents workers at the BCAA Road Assist Contact Centre and Administration, based in Burnaby.
