MoveUP reaches a tentative agreement on new collective agreement with BC Hydro

MoveUP is pleased to announce our union has reached a tentative agreement with BC Hydro on a new collective agreement.

MoveUP represents approximately 3,000 public sector workers who work at BC Hydro. The ratification vote will take place in June at a time to be determined.

Out of respect to our members who deserve to see the agreement first, we will not be sharing specifics at this time.

“We’re very pleased to reach this deal for our members who work at BC Hydro,” said Annette Toth, President of MoveUP. “Both sides worked hard to reach an agreement that we feel is fair and strong for our members and for the future of BC Hydro. We will be recommending ratification to our members.”

Our union local has proudly represented workers with this company dating back to their time as the BC Electric Railway Company. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the first collective agreement ever signed off in our union local’s history in 1946 with the BC Electric Railway Company.
