BC Votes! October 19

MoveUP executive board endorses BC NDP in 2024 provincial election

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, MoveUP’s executive board unanimously voted to endorse the BC NDP and all their candidates in the upcoming 2024 BC provincial election.

The BC NDP has a proven track record of supporting workers and investing in working people and families. David Eby is addressing affordability for everyday people with lower car insurance, lower childcare costs, lower electricity bills, and building tens of thousands of more affordable homes for people.

MoveUP endorses the BC NDP because their policies align with our members’ values and priorities, ensuring the protection and advancement of workers’ rights, public services, environmental sustainability, and accessible healthcare and education.

The BC provincial election will be held on October 19, 2024, with advance voting opportunities available from October 10-13 and October 15-16.

MoveUP’s executive board also separately voted to endorse Graeme Hutchison, the BC NDP candidate for the Abbotsford-West riding. Hutchison is a former president and secretary-treasurer at MoveUP. Through his involvement with our union, Hutchison has experience in issues related to public services and core areas of BC’s economy including public transit, BC Hydro, and ICBC.
