Andrea McKenna was elected to the MoveUP executive board in July 2024, following her dedicated service as a job steward and executive councillor. With a deep commitment to supporting BC Hydro employees, Andrea is passionate about improving their experience both at work and within the union. She values open communication and is always available to listen to members, striving to understand their perspectives and advocate for meaningful change. Andrea considers it a privilege to learn from people’s lived experiences and works diligently to promote equity and fairness for all.
Since joining BC Hydro in 2010, following two years with Accenture, Andrea has been actively involved in various initiatives that align with her commitment to inclusion and safety. She is a member of the BC Hydro Women’s Network and AccessAbility Network, and she participates in multiple MoveUP committees. Additionally, Andrea represents members at the Dunsmuir and Edmonds locations on the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education from the University of the Fraser Valley.
