TransLink, CMBC, and BC Transit – Finance Resources available to members who have been laid off

April 21, 2020

To All MoveUP Members at TransLink, CMBC, and BC Transit

We understand the last several days have been very stressful. MoveUP is here to support all members, including those who have received layoff notice.

Over the next few weeks, we will continue to speak out and advocate to provincial and federal leaders about the importance of emergency funding for public transit. We will have more information shortly and will be encouraging all our members across all our units to make their voices heard on this matter.

Public transit is critical, especially in these challenging times as it remains a key piece in getting healthcare and other front-line workers to and from work safely.

For our members who have been laid off at this time, you will continue to be members in good standing and we will continue to represent you.

We encourage you to explore the finance resources that are available for you at this time from both the provincial government and the federal government. A list of these resources can be found on our website at MoveUPTogether.ca/FlattenTheCurve.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your union representative, Parm Sandhar, at psandhar@moveuptogether.ca.

In solidarity,

Parm Sandhar, Union Representative
