Salal – General Wage Increase

Your union re-engaged discussions with the employer about the registered retirement savings plan as prescribed in the Letter of Understanding #3 in February 2023. The employer has brought our proposed language to its Board for discussion and consideration. Your union continues to advocate for your retirement income security in these discussions.

At the last round of negotiations, the salary bands and related step increases were incorporated into the collective agreement. The employer has a different interpretation on subsequent wage increases. As a result, you have not yet received your 2% wage increase. We understand your confusion and frustration. The parties discussed this matter on May 3, 2023. This discussion was respectful and collaborative, and a subsequent conversation will happen on May 23, 2023.
