Happy holidays MoveUP with holiday decorative images

Wishing all our members the best of the holiday season from MoveUP President Annette Toth

On behalf of MoveUP’s leadership team and staff, I want to wish all our members the best of the holiday season.

Like every year, 2025 has been busy for our union. We’ve celebrated wins at the bargaining table, we’ve welcomed many new members into our union family, and we’ve made our presence felt within our extended labour community by demonstrating our commitment to workers across many different sectors.

It warms my heart whenever I talk to our members at their workplaces or at our events, or even at the grocery store or out walking my dog, and they share with me their gratitude and pride in our union. I recognize this is the work of everyone, from our leadership team to our staff and, of course, our nearly 700 job stewards. It makes me extremely humble and proud to lead this union.

Once the calendar flips to 2026, we will be off to a fast start. We continue to be very active in bargaining. We’re going to continue to build on our work to engage our members, recruit more job stewards, and connect with our members in their workplaces.

Our office will be closed from Thursday, December 25, 2025, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026, to allow our staff to refresh, recharge, and spend some quality time with their loved ones. During this time, if you have an emergency issue at work, please call 604-299-0378 or 1-800-665-6838 and someone will be in touch with support.

I hope you have the chance to relax and enjoy the holiday season with your friends and family and to celebrate the start of a new year.

For our members who will be working over the holidays, thank you for your continued service to support our communities. We will be thinking of you.

Once again, on behalf of our staff and leadership team at MoveUP, I wish you a happy, healthy, and joyous holiday season. See you in the new year!

In solidarity,

Annette Toth
President
