Each year the International Labor Communications Association gives out awards to member unions in a variety of communications-related categories, including awards for union websites, magazines, articles, advertising, brochures, and social media presence.

MoveUP is proud to be recognized in four categories in the 2012 awards (for work in 2011):

• The Local Voice member magazine came in third in the category of General Excellence in a Local Union Magazine. 
• A column written by BC Federation of Labour President Jim Sinclair on Smart Meters for the April 2011 Local Voice placed third in the category of "Best Editorial or Column, Local Unions".
• "Solidaritweet", a monthly province-wide labour Twitter chat created by our communications department came in second for "Best Use of Social Media".
• Finally, the MoveUP website received first place for "General Excellence, Websites."
