MoveUP statement on incident involving Burnaby RCMP

Our union would like to offer our condolences to the friends, family, and colleagues of Cst. Shaelyn Yang, who lost her life in the line of duty while serving the community as a member of the Burnaby RCMP.

As proud members of the Burnaby community, this tragedy has shaken all of us. We encourage all our members and others in our community who have been affected by this senseless tragedy to seek support either through the Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) at their worksite or through other networks such as BC211.ca.

No one, regardless of profession, should have to go to work and not be able to return home safely.
