MoveUP statement

MoveUP statement calls for end of violence in Israel-Palestine conflict

Our union and our members are devastated by the ongoing violence in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Our members have felt the impact of this violence, with many also experiencing an increase of antisemitism, anti-Palestinian racism, and Islamophobia within our communities.

Our national union, COPE SEPB, in conjunction with the Canadian Labour Congress, has adopted the ITUC’s statement on the war in Israel and Gaza. We also adopt this statement which calls for peace.

We offer support to our members who have reached out to us during this traumatic time, and will connect our members with appropriate resources as necessary.

Peace and dialogue are the only lasting solution. We call for an end to violence. We call for peace.
