Letter from President David Black to new BC Liberals leader Andrew Wilkinson

Dear Honourable Minister Wilkinson:

On behalf of the over 11,000 members of MoveUP, I would like to congratulate you on being elected to your new position as leader of the BC Liberals and on your new role as the Leader of the Official Opposition in our provincial legislature.

Our members work in many parts of the economy, including energy generation and distribution, public auto insurance, public transit and post-secondary education. As a progressive, member-driven organization, we serve our members by not only addressing their issues at the workplace but making their voices heard and advocating for the causes they tell us matter to them as British Columbians.

For years, we have engaged in respectful dialogue with the BC Liberal government and we look forward to building a cordial working relationship with you and your party in its role as the Official Opposition.

We firmly believe that the best way to build a strong British Columbia is through dialogue, cooperation and finding common ground. We are pleased to meet with you at your convenience to share our vision of a British Columbia that serves the needs of working people.

Once again, congratulations and best of luck in your new position.

Sincerely,

David Black
