Transit Group – Fund Transit NOW campaign launched

To: All MoveUP members at BC Transit, Coast Mountain & TransLink
In our last email bulletin to you, we indicated that we would be in touch again as soon as we began our campaign to call on provincial and federal leaders to fund public transit.
We are pleased to share our new campaign page at MoveUPTogether.ca/fundtransitnow. We will be sharing this across all of our units at MoveUP and asking all of our members to get in touch with their local MLAs and MPs to make their voices heard on the urgency of funding public transit.
Our aim is to pressure our elected officials until they see the importance of keeping our transit system going at or near its full capacity. Our goal is to get them to provide emergency funding to keep our transit systems strong and sustained through this crisis, and beyond.
We want to get our members who were laid off back into their positions so they can continue to provide a critical public service at this crucial time.
We encourage you to share this page with your friends and family and ask them to get behind and support the call for emergency funding for transit.
We will be expanding our campaign and seeking other groups to partner with in order to get our message across greater networks. As we plan more actions, we will keep you informed so you can be engaged with us and helping achieve this common goal.
