***It came to our attention that not every member at Transit Security received this bulletin that was sent out on May 10, 2021. Please accept our sincere apologies.***

After hearing about multiple complaints of bullying and harassment (B&H) in the Transit Security department at CMBC (“the Department”), a survey was sent out by MoveUP to assess whether there is a B&H problem in the Department. Fifty members completed the survey and the results are striking. Based on self-reporting, half the Department has witnessed B&H and 37% have been subjected to it. Thirty-five percent do not feel comfortable reporting B&H at work and many have reported that management target victims and let the people doing the bullying behaviour continue without repercussions. This has created a toxic work environment that is psychologically injuring workers. Our members are entitled to a psychologically healthy and safe work environment under the law. We intend to discuss these results with the employer.

Attached is a summary of the B&H survey results for your review.
