PrairieCoast – Bargaining Update #9

To: All MoveUP members at PCE


On March 17th and 20th your bargaining committee engaged in mediation with your Employer under Section 55 of the Labour Relations Code.

Ms. Bains, the board appointed mediator, helped the parties to further conversations around non-monetary proposals which resulted in agreement in principle between the parties for the vast majority of the non-monetary proposals.

Unfortunately, although the parties made progress in discussing monetary proposals, an agreement has not yet been reached and an additional date of mediation has been booked for April 6th, 2023. According to Ms. Bains, your Employer will be advancing a monetary counter proposal to your bargaining committee on Friday, March 24th. We will attempt to continue negotiations leading up to the next mediation date.

As a reminder, should we need to engage in job action, the Union will need confirmation of your current pay. All members should email (or mail to our office) their 3 most recent pay stubs as soon as possible. Thank you to those that have already submitted, however there are a number outstanding.
