Notice of By-Elections – Nominations Open – Executive Councillor Areas #1670 and #1672
September 4, 2019
To: All MoveUP members in EC areas #1669, 1670, 1671 and 1672
EC Areas #1670 and #1672 represents members employed with ICBC at Victoria McKenzie DSC and Victoria Operations.
There are four at-large positions for EC areas #1669, 1670, 1671 and 1672. Two of these councillor positions are currently filled.
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
Due to the resignation of Philip Howard and Don Kennedy and in accordance with the constitution, we are running two by-elections for the above councillor positions.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
