MoveUP Women’s Rights Committee Period Promise Campaign Update

May 25, 2021

To All MoveUP Members

Following up on our May 4 bulletin, we want to confirm the date for donation drop off is now May 30th instead of May 29th.

WRC will be working with the United Way of the Lower Mainland for their pop-up collection event for the 2021 Period Promise campaign.

Event Details as follows:

Date: Sunday, May 30, 2021

Time: 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Drop Off Location:  Collingwood Safeway, 3410 Kingsway, parking lot (look for us along the north east entrance)

We are looking for volunteers especially anyone who has a truck or van who can help us collect the donated items and bring them to the UW office on Canada Way. Reach out to us here if you can help on this date.

If you cannot volunteer but would like to donate, please use this unique URL to make a contribution: http://bit.ly/moveupperiod. This code is specific for MoveUP financial donations that the United Way will track and then be able to purchase products through their partnerships at a discounted rate.

Once again we thank you for your consideration for this very worthy cause. With the help of thousands of donors, United Way has been able to distribute more than 1.2 million menstrual products to community organizations in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Sea-to-Sky Corridor. We are committed to making it easier for everybody to access the product they need when they need it. Let’s help United Way reach an even higher goal this year and improve the health and well-being of people and make it easier for them to stay engaged in their communities.

In solidarity,

Christy Slusarenko
Chair, Women’s Rights Committee
On behalf of the Women’s Rights Committee
