KNHS-Bargaining-Update #3 with Survey

To: All MoveUP Members at Kekinow Native Housing Society
Your union commenced bargaining with your employer on January 30, 2023. Since January, we have met with the employer on four occasions and have tabled all proposals including wages.
We are actively negotiating with the employer on various items. We are hopeful that we can come to an agreement on some of these items as our discussions have been constructive and positive. Further, we have received a proposal that the union feels a need for membership input. This proposal was drafted by the employer based on interest from the employees.
With that consideration, the union would like your input on this proposal. The employer would like to change your hours of work from seven (7) to seven and a half (7.5) hours per working day. This is not a significant change, but there may be personal impacts that may affect individual employees. We would like you to participate in a survey to establish the level of support for this proposed change. Based on the results of the survey, the union will then respond to the employer. You can find the survey here. Please complete the survey by 4:30 p.m., March 3, 2023.
We thank our members for supporting the union during negotiations and we are hopeful that we can reach a desired outcome for everyone. The union and employer are scheduled to continue negotiations on March 1, 2023.
