Hertz – Bargaining Update #2 – February 28, 2020
February 28, 2020
To: All MoveUP members at Hertz
Your Bargaining Committee met with management on February 25, 26, and 27 in order to continue the negotiation of the collective agreement renewal.
The parties continued the process of working toward a recommended settlement.
Following a significant amount of discussion both parties were able to establish their priorities for the new collective bargaining agreement. Your Committee based its priority decisions on the membership survey and on discussions with the membership at the pre-meeting and over the last several months.
Agreement was reached on housekeeping items such as removing stale dated letters of understanding and updating statutory leave language. A significant amount of time was spent on addressing vacation scheduling. Going forward we expect to be working on the items that have a monetary value attached to them.
The parties have agreed to meet again on June 2, 3, 4, 24, 25, and 26 for the purpose of continued bargaining. Unfortunately, these were the soonest dates available due to conflicting schedules.
Your Committee remains determined to bring back the best possible recommended settlement.
Thank you for your continued support of your Bargaining Committee. As bargaining begins to reach a critical stage it is essential that the employer knows that we are united as a group as they may see any signs of division as an opportunity that works to their advantage. We will need to ensure that we show management that we are united in our goal of bargaining the best possible collective agreement renewal.
If you have any questions about the above or anything else, please see your Bargaining Committee members or contact Shawn at the MoveUP office.
