BC Nurses’ Union – General Membership Meeting Dates 2025

Hello MoveUP members at BCNU,
Your elected stewards and union representative, Georgi Bates, are excited to announce our calendar for our 2025 General Membership Meetings. The first meeting is set to take place on February 19, 2025 and meetings will be regularly scheduled on the third Wednesday of the month, from 12:30-1:30pm, in the months of February, May, September and November. We are looking forward to getting together.
Event Details:
Date: February 19, 2025, May 21, September 17, and November 19.
Time: 12:30pm to 1:30 p.m.
Place: Zoom (The Zoom link will be sent to your home email address).
What’s on the Agenda?
We want to provide members with frequent communications, discussions and updates, but we also want to hear from you.
The virtual meeting will be held on zoom, and we are opening to members to ask questions and share your concerns.
The goal of our regular General Membership Meetings are to understand what it is important to you and provide you with regular updates. So please attend, invite your co-workers to attend with you, so we all can get the latest update on what’s happening and what’s coming up. Please let us know if you want to add any topics to the agenda:
ADGENDA ITEMS
- Update on General Matters:
- Members started the New Year off right by receiving a 2% base salary increase in January 2025! This should be reflected on Member’s January 10, 2025 pay statement.
- Job Evaluation Update:
- Based on a recently signed MOA (Memorandum of Agreement), we are in the process of evaluating all MoveUP positions within the BCNU bargaining unit. Darla Orchard is the Steward working as the lead on this project and is making good progress under the guidance of Vivian Ho, Job Evaluation Appeals Representative at MoveUP. Darla met again with Vivian on January 17, 2025, to review the job evaluations that have been completed to date. Thank you to all Members who provided information and assisted with this initiative. This work could not have been done without your participation!
