MoveUP is pleased to announce our members who work at Capilano University have ratified their tentative agreement.
The new agreement runs through to June 30, 2029. MoveUP represents over 500 public sector workers who work at Capilano University in both the North Vancouver and Squamish campuses. These are the staff that support the work of the university including information technology workers, early childhood educators, administrative support, librarians, facilities workers, and student workers.
“We’re very pleased to reach this deal for our members who work at Capilano University,” said Annette Toth, President of MoveUP. “We are happy to see our members secure a strong collective agreement that respects the work they do, provides them with strong benefits, and allows them to take care of themselves and their loved ones. This is a good deal for our members, and we are glad to see the university allow for innovative solutions during difficult times.
“Public sector workers at post-secondary institutions in BC are facing great uncertainty with funding challenges and now the unknown of a new provincial government coming into power. Our hope is that governments at all levels recognize the value of the work our members bring to Capilano University, and the value of post-secondary institutions to communities across BC.”
