ICBC – Good news! Updated group benefits now active

To: All MoveUP members at ICBC

We are pleased to confirm that your updated group benefits are now live with SunLife! ICBC advised us that the delay in implementation was due to the work needed to update the benefits administration system taking longer than was anticipated.

To recap, the improved benefits are:

  • Increase in gender affirmation coverage from $10,000 per calendar year to $15,000
  • Hearing Aids coverage increased from $1,000 to $3,000
  • Fertility and Surrogacy services of $10,000 combined maximum
  • Extended Healthcare Lifetime maximum increase to $1,000,000
  • Pharmacogenetic Testing
  • Out-of-Canada Emergency Medical Lifetime Maximum increase to $3,000,000

SunLife updated the coverage more quickly than expected, and members who require their claims to be reassessed can now contact them at 1-866-896-6976.
