ICBC – Bargaining Update #12: ICBC Neglects Your Priorities
August 6, 2026
To: All MoveUP members at ICBC
On July 27, August 4 and 5, your bargaining committee met with ICBC and exchanged package offers. On July 27, ICBC tabled a package offer that included monetary items as well as outstanding non-monetary items.
Your committee took July 28 as a caucus day to fully review, discuss and prepare a response to provide to your employer at bargaining, on August 4. On August 4, we tabled a comprehensive response.
On August 5, ICBC tabled another package offer that brought us closer to agreement, but some important matters still remain outstanding.
The latest package avoided addressing your top priority items including AI, workload, remote work, vacation, psychological safety, recognition of in-person customer-facing work, and improvements to working conditions within driver licensing offices.
With little movement from ICBC on these important issues, your committee can’t agree to all aspects of the current package on the table. We will be providing another detailed response to ICBC at our next set of dates, which is August 17 to 20, 2026.
We understand that members are eager for the parties to reach a deal and for the wage increases to be implemented. We also know you are very serious about achieving your top priorities, and that solutions on AI, workload and other key priorities can’t wait until next round of bargaining years down the road.
Achieving the best deal possible is important to us, and we will continue to keep you updated after our next set of dates. As always, your committee can be reached at icbcbarg@moveuptogether.ca.
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee:
