BEEM – No changes to working conditions without your consent!

July 23, 2026

To: All MoveUP members at Beem Credit Union

We wanted to address the concerns that many of you have raised about your employer’s recent communication about organizational changes.

We recognize this has caused a lot of uncertainty over your bargaining unit work and job security, as well as the impact they have on job titles and hours of work.

No changes to working conditions without your consent!

Let’s make this very clear: Your collective agreement is a binding agreement. It is the contract that we negotiated with your employer that outlines the specific terms and conditions of your work.

Your employer may have a right to organize and run their business as they see fit, but they DO NOT have the right to change the terms of conditions of your work as laid out in the collective agreement without our express consent.

We intend to fully enforce the terms and conditions of your collective agreement, to protect your work, and to do so with full transparency. If your employer tries to unilaterally change your working conditions, we will take them on and we will win. Because if they tried to do so, they would be breaking the law.

What to do moving forward

  • DO NOT sign any documents confirming changes to your hours of work
  • If you’re asked to do something that you believe goes against your working conditions, inform a job steward or contact your union representative
  • Review your collective agreement so that you understand all your rights and entitlements

In solidarity,

Ronnie Ho, Union Representative
Dasan Ban, Job Steward
Britteny Hodgson, Job Steward
Dianne De Souza, Job Steward
Lily Zhang, Job Steward
