Bargaining
Coastal Community Credit Union – Bargaining Update #1
June 12, 2026
To: All MoveUP members at CCCU
Your bargaining committee is pleased to share that negotiations have now officially begun. Following our in-person preparation meeting on June 9, we commenced bargaining with the employer on June 10 and 11. On the first day, both parties exchanged full proposal packages, conducted introductions, and participated in opening remarks, including a presentation from CCCU’s CEO, Kent Jesse. A bargaining protocol agreement was also signed to establish a respectful framework and clear expectations for the process. After these initial steps, each side moved to separate breakout rooms to carefully review the proposals that were presented.
Over these first two days, your committee worked hard to advance members’ priorities and successfully tabled all non-monetary proposals. At this early stage, the employer has taken firm positions that have limited progress and largely focused on concessions, creating some challenges in moving discussions forward. While this is not uncommon at the start of bargaining, it does mean there is still significant work ahead.
Despite this, your committee remains focused, prepared, and committed to advocating for a fair and respectful agreement. We will continue to engage constructively, apply steady pressure, and look for opportunities to move discussions forward in the sessions ahead. The next bargaining sessions have been scheduled for June 17 and 18, and we will continue to keep you informed as progress develops.
We appreciate your continued support and will provide further updates as bargaining continues.
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee:
