Hastings Entertainment Inc. – Ratification Vote on April 11**Revised Time** and April 13
April 9, 2025
To: All MoveUP members at Hastings Entertainment Inc.
Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative collective agreement with your employer, Hastings Entertainment Inc.
Some highlights of the tentative agreement include:
- Elimination of the PTE designation and removal of the qualifier of “ 4 days per week and 1000 hours” from the PTP category,
- Uniform or Special Clothing Premium- .50 cents per day to all employees on each paycheque,
- Night Shift Premium – .75 cents per hour for hours worked between 12am and 7am so long as the employee’s shift begins before 12am,
- Tips for Casino Security – introduction of a Security Tip Box for Casino Security Employees on a 12 month trial that if successful will remain,
- RRSP Match – FTP and PTP employees can contribute up to 5% of their wages to the Employer provided RRSP and the employer will match 50% of the contribution, to a maximum of 2.5%,
- 3 Year term Collective Agreement from January 1st, 2025 to December 31st, 2027,
- Wage Increases of 3% January 1st, 2025 retroactive to December 31st, 2024, 3% January 1st, 2026 and 3% January 1st, 2027,
- Slot Supervisors’ first year wage increase will be 8.7% and
- A minimum wage escalator in each year of the deal. This means that those making minimum wage will receive the increase of 3% on their current wage and when minimum wage goes up June 1st, in each year of the deal, the Employer will ensure that all of our members will be making at least the new minimum wage plus 1.5%.
Your bargaining committee is strongly recommending ratification of the tentative collective agreement.
A ratification vote will be conducted in-person, to vote on the tentative agreement. You can view the memorandum here.
In attendance will be your bargaining committee and Union Representative, Phil Bargen. This will also be your opportunity to vote on the tentative agreement. The vote will be conducted by secret ballot. Please make every effort to attend.
