Vancouver Shipyards – Bargaining Update #3

To: All MoveUP members at Vancouver Shipyards
Further to our last bulletin of September 19, 2023, your union has met with your employer for several dates in the past few months. We have more dates scheduled in January and February and hope to make good progress in the next few sessions.
As you know, MoveUP is part of a poly-party with four other unions representing the members at Vancouver Shipyards. With each round of bargaining, all of the unions involved have proposals that affect them specifically, as well as a number of proposals that impact the main collective agreement. MoveUP is covered specifically under Appendix F of the collective agreement, however the main collective agreement also applies where required.
There are a substantial number of proposals to discuss from the various unions, but we have signed off a number of non-monetary proposals so far.
As bargaining progresses, we will keep you updated.
