Salal – General Wage Increase Update #2

Further to our June 23, 2023 bulletin, your Union has continued to have discussions with your employer regarding implementation of the wages agreed to at bargaining. We had sent a settlement offer to your employer a number of weeks ago that would allow some flexibility in the implementation, however last week your employer told us they would not move off their position.

We have no choice but to advance this grievance to arbitration. In order to achieve the quickest possible resolution, we have applied for expedited arbitration under section 104 of the Labour Relations Code.

A settlement officer has been assigned, and we will be setting a date for mediation.

We will continue to keep you updated on the status of this grievance as it progresses.
