FBC-CSC – Join us on Monday Morning or Evening to Discuss the Tentative Agreement
June 1, 2023
To: All MoveUP members at FBC-CSC
Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that based on the recommendations of mediator Vince Ready, we have reached a tentative agreement with your employer. Some highlights of the agreement include:
- 5-Year Duration (from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2027)
- Broadly Inclusive Work from Home Program
- Ratification signing bonuses of $2,500 for active full-time regular employees and $1,500 for active temporary, part-time and UPTR employees (including grand-parented employees).
- Effective April 1, 2023: $0.25 flat increase for Steps 3 and 4 of salary group 3, subject to annual general increases as set out below.
- Annual general wage increases as follows (excepting grand-parented employees):
- Year 1: No increase
- Year 2: 3.75%, retroactive to April 1, 2023
- Year 3: 2.5%, effective April 1, 2024
- Year 4: 2.5%, effective April 1, 2025
- Year 5: 3.0%, effective April 1, 2026
Not including signing bonus or flat increases, total compounded wage increase over the life of the agreement is approximately 12.3%.
In place of wage increases, legacy employees will receive annual lump-sum payments of $750 unless their wages are surpassed by step 4 of their classification, in which case they will receive GWIs as normal.
- Paramedical annual maximum increased from $400 to $1,000
- $250/year Health Spending Account
- Additional negotiated leave language including pregnancy/parental, gender transition, volunteer emergency first responder leaves.
- Addition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a stat holiday
- Increase of night shift premium from 10% to 12%
- 5 paid sick days for temporary and UPTR employees after 90 days of employment
- Improvements to part-time employee sick leave calculation
- Flexible working arrangements for employees who are in an education program or who require greater shift flexibility.
- Strengthening of language related to union representation, privacy, bullying and harassment protection, employee protection from lawsuits, and discrimination.
- Expansion of prohibited grounds of discrimination

Ratification Vote – How you vote:
