FortisBC & FortisBC – CSC – Policy Grievance – National Day of Mourning

To: All MoveUP members at FBC & FBC-CSC
Following the Bulletin sent out on September 15, 2022, your union filed two policy grievances against the company for their failure to recognize the National Day of Mourning on September 19, 2022, as a holiday.
Article 13.01 of your collective agreement currently recognizes twelve (12) statutory holidays, “and any other day declared a holiday by Federal, Provincial and Civic Governments”.
The parties held a step 3 grievance meeting on November 21, 2022.
The company denied your union’s grievance on November 23, 2022.
Your union is currently in discussions on the next steps, and we will keep you up to date on the progress as it unfolds.
