NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION – Executive Councillor Area #1223

To: MoveUP Members in EC Area #1223
EC Area #1223 represents members employed at BC Hydro at Duncan DO, Ganges DO-Saltspring Island, Vancouver Island Terminal Duncan, Victoria DO.
Term Ending: April 30, 2023
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook, which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
SHARON THOMAS, Out-of-Area, has submitted a nomination form for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022, Sharon Thomas will be declared the successful candidate.
