NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION – Executive Councillor Areas #1206 to #1213

To: All MoveUP members in EC Areas #1206-#1213
EC Areas #1206 to # 1213 represents members employed at Accenture at Burnaby Edmonds Annex, C01 Pod C-1st Floor, C02 Pod C-2nd Floor. Members employed at BC Hydro at Edmonds A01 Pod A 1st Floor, A02 Pod A 2nd Floor, A03 Pod A 3rd Floor, Annex, Annex W1, Annex W3, B01 Pod B 1st Floor, B02 Pod B 2nd Floor, B03 Pod B 3rd Floor, B-P2, C01 Pod C 1st Floor, C02 Pod C 2nd Floor, C03 Pod C 3rd Floor, Operation Centre 1, Operation Centre 2, Tower 4th to 16th Floor.
There are eight at-large councillor positions in these EC areas. Three are currently filled.
Term Ending: April 30, 2023
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above five councillor vacancies. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
BOSCO MISQUITTA has submitted a nomination form for one of the above positions. If there are no other nominations received by the Returning Officer by the deadline of 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, Bosco Misquitta will be acclaimed. Should more than five nominations be received, an election by electronic ballot will be held.
