Bargaining
BC Transit – Bargaining Update #6 – January 31, 2020
January 31, 2020
To: All MoveUP members at BCT
The Union Bargaining Committee and Employer met to continue collective bargaining on January 22-24, 2020 in Victoria and January 27-28, 2020 in Burnaby at the MoveUP head office.
The Union continued to make progress on agreeing to non-monetary language proposals. We continued to work toward achieving the improvements that were identified in the bargaining survey and membership meeting process.
Thank you for the continued support of your Union Bargaining Committee. As bargaining begins to reach a critical stage, it is essential that the employer knows that we are all united as a group as they may see any signs of division as an opportunity that works to their advantage. In order to achieve the best possible agreement, we need to make sure that we show management that we are united in our goal of bargaining the best collective agreement renewal as possible.
The parties are set to meet again from March 10-12, 2020 in Burnaby.
If you have any questions about collective bargaining, please feel free to contact the Chief Negotiator, Union Representative, Parm Sandhar.
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee:
Glen Redden, Job Steward
Sal Ruffolo, Executive Councillor
Parm Sandhar, Union Representative
