IAMAW District 140 – Tentative Agreement Reached

To: all MoveUP members at IAMAW District Lodge 140

After a successful round of mediation at the Labour Relations Board, the Union is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative collective agreement with your employer, IAMAW District 140.

Highlights
Main highlights of the tentative agreement include:

  • Three year term for a new Collective Agreement, from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019

Wage increases are as follows:

January 1, 2017 1.50%
January 1, 2018 2.00%
January 1, 2019 2.00%

 

  • Updated language throughout the Collective Agreement.
  • New language aimed at solving problems prior to the filing of grievances.
  • New Health and Safety language to help prevent repetitive strain injuries
  • New LOU allowing the Employer to hire students for very limited occasional duties. Students would not replace or displace regular employees.
  • The Parties agreed to an extended wage schedule for new employees, while guaranteeing these new employees will still reach the existing top rates.
  • The Member who is currently paid above the current wage scale will receive lump sum payments in lieu of wage increases.

The Union is recommending ratification of the tentative collective agreement.

Ratification Meeting
We will be holding a ratification meeting in Richmond on Thursday, April 26th, 2018. We will review the tentative agreement with you, after which you will have the opportunity to vote on the agreement. Members working in Ontario and Quebec will vote via mail in ballot. Printed copies of the tentative agreement will be available at the meeting. However, please take the time to review the electronic version in advance of the meeting.

PLACE: IAMAW District 140 Offices, 7980 River Road, Richmond, BC

In accordance with the MoveUP Constitution, the vote will be conducted by secret ballot. Please make every effort to attend. Vote will be counted after all ballots are received.
