Diwali Greetings from MoveUP

The Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union local 378 is sending best wishes for a Happy Diwali to its members and their families celebrating this festival of lights.

Diwali is celebrated by many of our members of Sikh, Hindu and Jain faiths and backgrounds. The five-day festival marks the end of the harvest season. During the festival, families perform traditional activities together in their homes, including the burning of small clay oil lamps to signify the triumph of good over evil. The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word deepavali, which means a row of lights.

“To all our members and our families celebrating Diwali, we hope the celebration brings you and your loved ones joy and prosperity,” said President David Black.
