WAVAW – Bargaining Bulletin Update #7

We write to inform you that we met with the Employer on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.

We are pleased to announce that the Parties have reached a tentative agreement. Your first collective agreement includes some of the following rights and entitlements:

  • A General Wage Increase

– 2.5% retroactive to May 1, 2018

– 2.0% effective May 1, 2019

– 2.0% effective May 1, 2020

  • An increase in Vision Care to a maximum of $250.00 per year
  • Employees only working for ½ day on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve
  • Two Floating days to be considered during the Christmas Closure
  • Domestic Violence Leave
  • Commitment to explore a Registered Retirement Savings Plan
  • Tele-commuting Agreements
  • Education Leave up to one year
  • Job Selection Language
  • Overtime Compensation
  • Access to be recalled when contract ends
  • Bumping Rights
  • Right to Union Representation
  • Grievance Procedure
  • Personal Leave
  • Bereavement Leave
  • Compassionate Care Leave
  • Special Leave
  • Family Member Sick Leave

Your bargaining committee will be making arrangements to conduct a ratification meeting. We will notify you of the date and time of this meeting, so please stay tuned.
