Wage Increase for ICBC Employees Set for July 1, 2018
June 29, 2018
To: All ICBC MoveUP Members
This coming Canada Day long weekend, many folks will spend time with family and friends. Some will gather around a camp fire, toasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Others will take in community celebrations and fireworks displays that light up the night’s sky. And some will simply relax at home, far from the crowds and chaos. Regardless of how you plan to spend Canada Day, for the MoveUP members at ICBC, we will have one other reason to celebrate.
On July 1, we’ll receive a .5% wage increase, which was agreed to by ICBC and MoveUP in the last round of collective bargaining. Wage increases for 2018 total 1.9% with an increase of 1.4% this past May 1st and now .5% for July 1st. The new wage scales can be found on the ICBC Hub as well as on our web site. You will also see your Gainshare payment on your pay in July. All of this will make our summer just a little brighter!
Our next wage increase is scheduled for May 1, 2019. That increase is set for 1%. However, it could be more if BC’s economy continues to grow, which would trigger an additional payout from the Economic Stability Dividend. You can learn more about the Economic Stability Dividend and how it is calculated by clicking this link to our bulletin of March 20, 2017.
On behalf of all the staff and officers of MoveUP, I’d like to wish you and your family a safe and happy Canada Day.
In solidarity,
Annette Toth
Vice-President
