Vancouver Shipyards – Retroactive Pay Corrections

All MoveUP Members at Vancouver Shipyards
On August 13, 2024, the employer put out a memo advising that they would be paying an advance on August 15 which would be an estimated calculation of the wage increase based on your earnings since March 1, 2023, less deductions. The full calculation was to be completed on September 16, 2024.
Your union attended the monthly Labour Management meeting at Vancouver Shipyards on October 9, 2024. During this meeting, we were advised that there has been a delay in the correction of the retroactive salary payment corrections. We were advised that the full calculation will be complete and paid on October 18, 2024.
Once you receive your retroactive wage correction, please review the information to ensure it is correct. If there is a discrepancy, please advise payroll directly. A number of employees in the payroll department are also MoveUP members employed by Seaspan ULC. While we understand having payroll errors is inconvenient, please remain kind and considerate when contacting them.
