Vancouver Shipyards – Floating Holiday

To: All MoveUP members at Vancouver Shipyards
In accordance with Article 7.04 of your collective agreement, all bargaining unit employees are entitled to one floating holiday day per year. The language states:
All full-time regular employees shall be entitled to a “floating” day off, with pay, once each calendar year, which shall be in addition to the Statutory Holiday and annual vacation entitlement provided for in Article 7 and 8 of this Agreement. The “floating” day off shall be taken on the same date the hourly shipyard employees take their floating statutory holiday during the Christmas period.
In 2024, there are two date options available to use this entitlement and your union, along with the Vancouver Shipyards Poly-Party Council of Unions, would like your input.

Tuesday, December 31, 2024
Please respond by 4:30pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
We will advise you and the employer of the floating holiday date as soon as possible.
