Two Events Coming Up

September 22, 2017

To: All MoveUP Members

There are two upcoming events that we would like to bring to your attention, the Walk for Reconciliation this Sunday as well as the vigil Honouring the Lives of Missing and Murdered Women on October 4th.

The Walk for Reconciliation, on September 24 is aimed at building better relationships among Indigenous peoples and all Canadians. All ages, backgrounds, cultures, and faiths are invited to come together as communities and individuals. The Walk is open to everyone. Registration is encouraged but not required. http://ow.ly/tAh030fhnDF

Next month, on October 4, we honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The violence experienced by our aboriginal sisters in Canada is a national tragedy.  You can become involved in a movement for social change by participating in a vigil, which can take many forms, from just taking a moment out of silence to attending a rally. Visit the Native Women’s Association of Canada website for a list of vigils in BC and across the country or visit www.october4th.ca to hold an online vigil.

In solidarity,
