TransLink – Working from Home

January 24, 2018

To: All MoveUP Members at TransLink

As you may recall, your union bargained a letter of agreement pertaining to working from home during the most recent round of negotiations. Letter of Agreement #9 provides for work from home to be requested by employees and for the related terms and conditions to be negotiated by the union and employer. It also states that the union and employer will continue to discuss working from home and will negotiate terms and conditions for it to be able to occur in the future without the need for a new negotiation related to each individual request.

As we continue these discussions we would like to check-in with you regarding your interest in working from home. We hope to get an idea of how many people might be interested, and what types of positions they work in. If you are interested in potentially working from home, please email me at svonsychowski@moveuptogether.ca

Useful information would include:

– Your job title
– The name of your department
– How frequently you might be interested in working from home

We will not share your name with the employer in our discussions, but instead will provide them with the number of people in a particular role or department who expressed interest. If you are interested in requesting to work from home while our discussions continue, you can place your request to do so with your manager.

In solidarity,
Stephen von Sychowski, Union Representative
