Transit – Strategizing in solidarity ahead of bargaining

To: All MoveUP members at BC Transit, Coast Mountain Bus & TransLink

A meeting was held of the Transit Joint Union Council, to discuss the upcoming round of Collective Bargaining and negotiate strategies. This Council consists of the following unions: MoveUP, Unifor Local 111, Unifor Local 2200, Unifor Local 333, ATU Local 134, CUPE Local 5400, CUPE Local 7000, and the BCGEU representing Protrans.

The Council discussed how to collaborate efforts during bargaining in order to ensure that the unions present a unified approach to the employer.

The input from all unions was invaluable. We will provide further updates from the Council as consultation will continue.
