This morning, many of us who live in Metro Vancouver received several notifications from the emergency alert system regarding an active shooting that was taking place in Langley.
This senseless and tragic incident killed and wounded several individuals. For our members who work in Langley, we recognize this can be a deeply troubling and potentially traumatic event.
We want you to know that your union is here to provide support if needed. We encourage you to reach out to your job steward if you are dealing with any issues, to consult with the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) resource as outlined in your collective agreement (if applicable), or to use the resources available at BC 211 (bc211.ca or call 211).
