SEIU Local 2 – Picket Line at YVR

To: All MoveUP members at Enterprise
SEIU Local 2, the union that represents Alpine Building Maintenance members at YVR, has advised us that it will have picket lines up at 7:00 am on Friday, December 20. The picket location will be at Chester Johnson Park (inside YVR near the skyway between parkade and terminal near the Japadog stand). Currently, they are looking for picket support only. They intend to move throughout YVR during the day unless they are made to leave. SEIU advise they are NOT trying to block people from accessing YVR.
If you are working onsite and encounter a picket line blocking your ability to get to work, please contact me at wedgar@moveuptogether.ca or your job steward.
We ask all of our members to show their solidarity and support to the striking SEIU members. Whether it’s honking as you drive by or stopping to talk to those on the line, having the support of union brothers and sisters goes a long way.
