Seaspan ULC – Senior Payroll Clerks Retroactive Wage Increase

To: All Senior Payroll Clerks at Seaspan ULC
Your union filed two grievances in October 2023 related to the employer’s failure to post a position and an improper job evaluation. After discussions with the employer, the union has reached a settlement.
All employees in the Sr. Payroll Clerk position will be re-classified from a salary grade 5 to a salary grade 6, effective January 1, 2024. This increase will result in a wage increase of approximately $300 per month for each employee in that job title. In addition, salary grade 6 also contains a 24-month salary step whereas in the salary grade 5 position, employees would hit the maximum of that salary grade after 12 months.
All employees in the Sr. Payroll Clerk position should see the retroactive wage increase on the February 15, 2024 payroll. If you do not receive the increase, please contact payroll or email me at ygarie@moveuptogether.ca.
