Reminder: Executive Council Meeting – March 31
March 27, 2025
To: Executive Councillors
A reminder that a virtual Executive Council meeting will be held as follows:
Date: Monday, March 31, 2025
Time: 9:30am
After the regular Council business is complete, Councillors and Board members will be assigned into their unit breakout sessions. In order to ensure that you are assigned to the correct breakout session for your unit, pre-registration for the Council meeting will be required. Please click here to register. The expectation is for all Councillors and Board members to attend to discuss topics of relevance to your unit. It is anticipated that these sessions will last for approximately one hour.
Meeting documents will be available on the member portal this week. If you are unable to access the member portal, please contact our membership department at membership@moveuptogether.ca. For any other questions related to the Council meeting, please contact Michelle Mihaichuk at mmihaichuk@moveuptogether.ca.
COPE National Convention
We will be electing seven (7) councillors at the meeting to attend the COPE National Convention in Winnipeg taking place from June 5 to 7 (with caucus meetings beginning on June 4). These seven councillors will join other delegates that have been appointed by other means or are members of the executive board.
Five (5) available delegate spots for a councillor from an equity-seeking group as defined by the COPE National Constitution (i.e. First Nations, Métis, Inuit, racialized people, Two Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, people living with a disability, or young workers).
Two (2) available delegate spots for a councillor who are considered young workers as defined by the COPE National Constitution (i.e. a worker who is less than 35-years-old at the time of selection).
Note: A young worker, as defined by the COPE National Constitution, is eligible to run for a spot in both the equity-seeking group category and the young worker category.
If you are interested in attending the convention and have not attended a COPE National Convention previously, please fill out this survey form. Delegates will be selected at random from all the eligible nominations at the meeting.
If you plan to run for a delegate spot, you must be available to travel to Winnipeg by June 3 and must commit to attending the entire Convention. The departure date after Convention is June 8. No delegates may depart prior to June 8 except in extenuating circumstances.
In solidarity,
Annette Toth
President
